I mean really. Maybe I’m extra sensitive to this subject because I have pregnant phobia of the stuff, but you can’t argue that cat poop isn’t vile. Especially when it’s in your yard and it came from a mystery cat (don’t even get me started on stray cats and people who disregard leash laws). Anyway…on to my story. Today is an absolutely beautiful day! I’m so tired of being cooped up inside (with a wild toddler nonetheless), trying to think of ways to wear Little Ro’ out so he’ll sleep and allow me to work in the afternoons. But today the sun is shining and the snow is melting! So we came out of hiding with scooter and Diego car in tow. We visited with my DH’s grandpa and aunt who are our neighbors and LR had a ball splashing in (filthy) puddles that have accumulated in our gutters. He was soaked, but having a ball, so I didn’t mind that he was a complete mess. Until the cat poop. He was walking along and saw it. Fortunately I saw it too and told him not to touch as he was bending over to inspect the mysterious brown pile of goo. He got my message, stood up, and promptly stomped in it. UUUUGH!!! I almost vomited! I got him to run around in the wet grass to wipe much of it off and then I got a pair of gloves and undressed him in the garage (I buy rubber gloves in bulk at Costco–very handy for cutting meat, doing yucky dishes, etc. I highly recommend). So, now his favorite See Kai Runs are banished to the garage until CTDad comes home and figures out how on earth to disinfect them. And I do mean disinfect.

I’m sitting at my desk, trying to get a little work done before Little Ro’ gets up, and I hear this over the monitor: “Target, Target, Target, Target, Target….candy, candy, candy….” Good thing we’re going to Target after the gym this morning! His wish is granted!

I’ll never complain about traffic again–well, not for a few days at least! I just got off the phone with my DH and he is only about a mile ahead of where he was the last time I spoke with him–almost 2 hours ago. Utah has been hit with a severe snowstorm and the poor guy is right in the thick of a whiteout blizzard. Poor guy has been on the road for 4.5 hours so far with no dinner (or lunch) and nowhere to pull off!

This made me laugh tonight! I just might have to purchase a set to satisfy my own curiosity!

I woke up this morning and decided it was time to do something different. I was tempted to be lazy by the considerable pain in my inner thighs, thanks to a ride on the hip adductor. But I’ve just about had it with winter and staying indoors. So we went to the Treehouse Museum in Ogden. Little Ro’ always has a fantastic time and typically gets completely exhausted (a very important part of my plan). My Fridays are hectic with work, so I rely on a marathon nap and a little Nanny McPhee to get me through. LR had a ball at the Treehouse and particularly loved driving the fire engine today.
They have also added a mini Oval Office since our last visit. Little Ro’ wasn’t very presidential, though. He just wanted to knock down George W and climb all over the desk. But it was pretty cute.
After we finished at the Treehouse, I stuffed him full of Arby’s (and yes, I had curly fries–I’ve had fries twice this week–ugh!). And went home for his nap. I was naively hopeful when LR was silent for the first 15 minutes or so. But then he talked, sang, and went on and on for 2 hours! I kept hearing “5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10–ready, set, GO!!!” Give me kudos for letting him hang out in bed for 2 hours, though. When I finally broke down and went in to get him, I couldn’t believe what I found. There he was, sitting in his bed without a stitch of clothing on! He had stripped EVERYTHING–including his socks and diaper, tossed everything out of his bed, and peed EVERYWHERE. His bed was soaked and the carpet was wet. This was a new low in parenting, but somehow I kept my cool. Just one more load of laundry, I guess!
I think I’m glad that my Friday is finally over! My poor DH is out camping in the cold with the scouts tonight. I’m glad to be curled up in my warm bed with my laptop and a movie!

So, I just need to pat myself on the back–and pat SavvyToddlerMom on the back at the same time. We made a pact to hit the gym together 3 times each week and we’ve really been sticking to it! It feels GREAT! Even on days when I feel like I’m dragging myself, I come out so energized. We’re going again tonight and due to excessive Super bowl snacking, it’s probably badly needed.
